A few years ago it was widely reported that Peter Jackson was attached to make a Halo movie, the spin is that when this project died the momentum was redirected into producing District 9. But just watch this trailer, for a game, and tell me that a Halo movie wouldn’t have kicked ass.

I mean, obviously if one took the Michael Bay approach it would have been a piece of shit (and maybe if Peter Jackson had directed it would have been bad as well, he seems to be a far better producer than director), but watch the war memorial diorama Halo 3 trailer, and watch this new We are ODST trailer, and tell me you don’t see soul in these people and their struggle? It expresses, in just 90 seconds, the generation long battle to defend humanity, not in a way that glorifies violence, but in a way that mourns the fallen.
