Load of old rubbish.

A load of old rubbish.

Been sorting through my boxes of “stuff” in preparation for the big move this weekend, and been more ruthless than ever before in the throwing away. Making up, so far, two full wheelie bins of old crap “that’ll come in handy some time I’m sure.”

Who needs half a dozen old modems? Or an old network hub? Dozens of lengths of ethernet? 20 different computer power supply cables? USB cables for Somalia? Wallwarts for who-knows-what devices?  Etc, etc, etc.

What a bunch of crap. I’m relieved – gladdened even – to be rid of it all.

(But I bet that in there is something I’ll desperately need right away in the new place.)

what! you are just chucking all that stuff in the bin? isn’t it quite toxic? ain’t there special collection day for computer stuff!

Most of it was just cables, which aren’t toxic – just plastic and copper. There probably is a tiny amount of nasty stuff in some of the circuit boards, I wasn’t really thinking about it. The benefit/drawback of cleaning house when you’re just home from a bar, I guess. :)

Poor Somalia… just when they thought their USB shortage was over…
